MAC’s Inspiration

I have always believed the world is better because of the United States of America. Over 250 years, the men and women of this country are active worldwide fighting for freedom, delivering humanitarian aid, and contributing to innovations in medicine, technology, the arts and so much more.

Over two decades of worldwide travel, the people I met would share their stories and want to talk about the spirit of America – tell me more, America, the land of opportunity to raise a family, build a business, and live a life filled with possibilities. We may be a relatively young country, not perfect, but a mighty beacon of hope.

I wrote “America 250 Proof” after a recent project as Executive Producer for the Army 250th Celebration at Fort Bragg and the Navy and Marine Corps 250th programming in 2025. The renewed joy of our service men and women was inspiring. It reminded me of my childhood, living on the base in New Mexico, where we were united in spirit and purpose.

I was nostalgic, reminiscing about 1976 and the positive energy the whole country embraced. The Amtrak Freedom Train, Red, White, and Blue Police cars, Parades, cookouts and celebrations from East to West, North to South from small towns to big cities celebrated our country with life, love and liberty and were proud to be Americans.

I was called by God to write a song to bring us back to that place again.
